At Kowa, we have listened carefully to Community and designed a digital platform to support the collection, analysis, and sharing of evidence for UMEL. Wathaga is a groundbreaking digital platform designed to support Community-led UMEL. Developed by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people, Wathaga is the first platform of its kind to embed Indigenous Data Sovereignty for UMEL, ensuring communities maintain control over data, are able to drive place-based narratives and can safely utilise local knowledge in UMEL and as an economic asset.
